WellRead's October Kids Selection: Going For Pippies by Wilaaran Hunter Laurie

We love learning about other people’s traditions and the fun they have with their family. That’s why we love this story, written by Wilaaran Hunter Laurie – a proud Yaegl boy – about his family’s adventure to find some pippies. 

Pippies are little creatures that live in the ocean, buried in the sand. They’ve got a shell that keeps them safe and lets them grow. To find them, you have to know where to look, and how to encourage them out from beneath the sand. 

That’s exactly what Wilaaran’s family knows how to do! Follow along as Wilaaran learns from his family and enjoys the tradition.
