The best part about being human is that we are all unique – that means that we have things that make us different from other people … no two people are the same! 

In this month’s book, we meet a little girl whose mum is quite different from the other mums at school – almost too different. She’s a bird. It makes lots of things quite tricky and causes some embarrassing moments when parents and carers are invited to join in at school for the day, but it also leads to a surprising turn of events. 

In My Mum is a Bird by Angie Cui and Evie Barrow, we explore what it means to embrace our differences, look at things from new perspectives, and take pride in the things that might make us uncomfortable at first. 

We hope you enjoy meeting everyone in this book; there are parents who have wings, some who are bank managers, some who are scared of spiders, some who have red hair, and others who are chatterboxes. They’re all special in their own way.
